Astros Open 2027 Coca-Cola Shooting Stars Auditions
Ever wanted to dance on the dugout at Daikin Park? The Houston Astros have opened auditions for the 2027 Coca-Cola Shooting Stars, with registration available now through Friday, Nov. 6.
The Shooting Stars serve as Astros ambassadors both at games and throughout the Houston community. The team is seeking dynamic, well-spoken performers with strong dance backgrounds who can help create a family-friendly atmosphere at Astros games and community events.
Auditions Begin With Video Submissions
This year’s open auditions will begin with video submissions. Registration is open through Friday, Nov. 6, and late submissions will not be accepted.
Candidates must submit two videos: a 15-second introduction and a 60-second choreographed freestyle dance highlighting their best pom-style moves. They must also provide a headshot and a full-length photo.
For the dance video, candidates should wear form-fitting athletic clothing with no midriff showing and athletic shoes. The Astros also ask candidates to film in a well-lit area with performance-ready hair and makeup.
Those selected to advance will be notified by email Tuesday, Nov. 10.
In-Person Callbacks at Daikin Park
Invitation-only callbacks will take place Saturday, Nov. 14, through Monday, Nov. 16, at Union Station at Daikin Park.
Candidates who advance will be evaluated over as many as three days, although qualifying for the initial callback does not guarantee advancement to Days 2 or 3.
Candidates will be judged on personality and enthusiasm, dance background and performance quality, their ability to represent the Astros organization, knowledge of the Astros and baseball, and their ability to work in a group.
A Significant Time Commitment
Those selected for the 2027 team will have mandatory events beginning with team onboarding Dec. 2. The preseason schedule includes regular dance practices, a photo and video shoot, Fan Fest, Media Day, boot camp, and other mandatory events.
The Astros estimate a commitment of about six hours per week from November through January, increasing to 15 hours per week in February and March. During the season, Shooting Stars can expect a commitment of approximately 15–25 hours per week, including games, practices, and scheduled events.
Junior Shooting Stars clinics are also scheduled for June 5, July 17, and Aug. 7.
