Altuve, Peña Need Late Push in Latest All-Star Voting Update
The second All-Star ballot update is out, and the good news is that three Astros are still in the mix. However, two of them need a push before Phase One closes June 25 at noon ET.
Yordan Alvarez is holding first place among AL designated hitters and remains one of the top vote-getters in the entire American League. He is going to Philadelphia. That part is not in question.
Jose Altuve and Jeremy Peña both need a boost. Altuve has climbed to third among AL second basemen, and Peña sits fourth among AL shortstops. Both need to finish in the top two at their position to advance to Phase Two—and both are currently on the outside looking in.
Right now, it’s still possible for them to close the gap! Fans can vote up to five times per day at MLB.com, on any club site, or through the MLB app. With a few days left, every vote genuinely matters.
