HOUSTON, TX – August 28, 2025 — Christian Walker delivered the game-winning hit for the Houston Astros, lifting them to a 4-3 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Thursday at Daikin Park. Walker’s late-game heroics, including two home runs, secured the series win for Houston in a tight contest.
The Astros got on the board early with back-to-back home runs from Jose Altuve and Christian Walker in the first inning. The team extended its lead to 3-0 in the second when Mauricio Dubón scored on a bunt single from catcher César Salazar. However, the Rockies battled back, tying the game 3-3 with home runs from Ezequiel Tovar and Yanquiel Fernández.
With the game tied in the bottom of the eighth, Christian Walker hit a solo home run, his second of the game, to give the Astros a 4-3 lead. The Astros’ bullpen, with Bryan King and Bryan Abreu, held the Rockies scoreless in the final two innings to seal the victory.
The win improves the Astros’ record to 75-60, and they now hold a 2-game lead over the Seattle Mariners in the American League West. The Astros will now look to continue their success as they welcome the Los Angeles Angels to Daikin Park for a four-game series beginning on Friday.
