Notes

Tuesday night suddenly feels a lot different than Monday. Hunter Brown makes his long-awaited return after finishing third in AL Cy Young voting last season, and he’ll do it with familiar company behind the plate as Yainer Diaz returns from the injured list after missing more than a month with a left oblique strain. The Tigers counter with Framber Valdez in a matchup that feels oddly familiar despite the uniforms. Houston dropped the opener Monday but gets a chance to reset quickly with one of its best pitchers back on the mound and a lineup that finally looks a little closer to full strength.
