Astros Offense Explodes for 10 Runs, Route White Sox 10-2

HOUSTON, TX – June 11, 2025 – The Houston Astros’ bats came alive last night at Daikin Park, as they routed the Chicago White Sox 10-2 to even their three-game home series. A season-high four RBIs from Christian Walker highlighted the offensive explosion.

Astros right-hander Ryan Gusto (4-3) earned the win, delivering a strong six-inning outing where he allowed just two runs on seven hits while striking out seven. For the White Sox, Sean Burke (3-7) took the loss, surrendering seven runs on eight hits in just 3.2 innings.

The Astros wasted no time getting on the board in the bottom of the first inning. Jose Altuve hit an RBI double, scoring Jake Meyers. Then, Christian Walker launched a two-run home run to left field, his ninth of the season, giving the Astros an early 3-0 lead.

Houston continued to pile on in the third inning. With runners on first and second, Christian Walker struck again, this time with a two-run double to center field, pushing the lead to 5-0.

The offensive barrage didn’t stop there. In the bottom of the fourth, Jeremy Peña hit an RBI double, and Isaac Paredes followed with another RBI double, extending the lead to 7-0 and chasing White Sox starter Sean Burke from the game.

The White Sox finally got on the scoreboard in the top of the fifth, scoring two runs on a groundout by Mike Tauchman and an RBI single from Miguel Vargas, cutting the lead to 7-2.

However, the Astros immediately answered in the bottom of the fifth with an RBI groundout from Victor Caratini, making it 8-2. They added two more runs in the eighth, with RBIs from Jacob Melton and Isaac Paredes, bringing the final score to 10-2.

Christian Walker had a standout night, going 3-for-4 with a home run, a double, and a season-high four RBIs. Jose Altuve also had a multi-hit game, securing his 2,300th career hit with an RBI double in the first inning. The Astros collected 15 hits in total.

The commanding win improved the Astros’ record to 37-30. They will now face the White Sox in the rubber match to decide the series.
