The Houston Astros Foundation and Daikin Comfort Technologies are accepting applications for the second annual Daikin’s Most Valuable STEAM Scholarship, which will award a total of $100,000 to outstanding high school seniors across the Greater Houston area.
The program recognizes students who excel at the intersection of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics while also demonstrating strong character, creativity, and community leadership.
Last year’s inaugural program awarded $10,000 scholarships to ten students. The 2026 program will follow the same format, providing ten scholarships worth $10,000 each.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Graduating class of 2026 high school senior
- Planning to attend a college, university, or other higher education institution
- Permanent residence in one of the following Texas counties: Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, San Jacinto, Walker, Waller, or Wharton
Application requirements
Students must submit:
- A 300-word essay
- Two letters of recommendation
- Proof of acceptance to an accredited institution
Semifinalists may be invited to participate in a personal interview with the scholarship selection committee.
Scholarship funds must be used for education-related expenses including tuition, fees, books, supplies, and required equipment.
Scholarship recognition
Recipients will be notified by email and later recognized at a Houston Astros home game, where they will attend a pregame reception and receive their scholarship certificates.
