HOUSTON, TX – December 3, 2025 – Space City Home Network (SCHN) announced today the launch of SCHN+, a groundbreaking direct-to-consumer streaming app that allows Houston Astros and Houston Rockets fans to watch all games and network programming directly from their favorite devices—no cable, satellite subscription, or contract required.
The new SCHN+ app is available now at SCHNPLUS.com and can be downloaded on iOS, Android, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV devices, with additional platforms coming soon. The service is priced at $19.99 per month or $199.99 per year, plus tax.
The launch of SCHN+ marks a historic milestone, as the Astros and Rockets were the 30th and final teams in their respective leagues to offer a direct-to-consumer streaming option. Previously, fans could only access SCHN through expensive cable, satellite, or streaming bundles like DirecTV, Comcast, or FuboTV, which typically cost $80 to more than $150 per month.

Regional Availability
SCHN+ is available to customers in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and the following counties in New Mexico: Dona Ana, Eddy, Lea, Chaves, Roosevelt, Curry, Quay, Union, and Debaca. Fans can watch up to 30 days outside the market area while traveling.
Fans outside these regions can still access Astros games through MLB.TV’s out-of-market service.
Existing Subscribers Benefit Too
Fans who already receive SCHN through participating cable, satellite, or streaming providers (including DirecTV, AT&T, iNet, and FuboTV) can authenticate their provider credentials to access the SCHN+ app at no additional charge, allowing them to watch games away from home on their mobile devices.
Important Notes
- Games broadcast on national television (ESPN, Fox, Apple TV+) remain subject to those networks’ exclusive broadcast rights
- Live broadcasts cannot be paused, rewound, or screen recorded
- The SCHN+ team continues working to add the service to YouTube TV and Hulu + Live TV
