Spencer Arrighetti Welcomes Twins as Astros Call-Up Nears

April 8, 2026

Spencer Arrighetti is already having a big 2026. On Tuesday, it got a little bigger.

The Houston Astros right-hander and his wife, Zaxlee, welcomed twin boys, Luca and Nico, adding to what has already been a promising start to the season for the 26-year-old.

Arrighetti has been sharp in his first two starts for the Triple-A Sugar Land Space Cowboys, striking out 13 and allowing zero earned runs over 8⅓ innings. The Astros have always planned to bring him up when they go to a six-man rotation, and with Hunter Brown now on the injured list with a Grade 2 right shoulder strain, that callup could come sooner than expected.

It has been a long road back for Arrighetti, who missed four months of last season with a fractured right thumb suffered during batting practice in Seattle and then was shut down again in August with right elbow inflammation. He enters 2026 healthy and, by all indications, ready—on and off the field.
