Time is running out for Greater Houston high school seniors to apply for the Daikin Most Valuable STEAM Scholarship. The application deadline is tomorrow, March 31, 2026.
Now in its second year, the program—a partnership between the Astros Foundation and Daikin Comfort Technologies—will award ten $10,000 scholarships to outstanding seniors from the Greater Houston area who demonstrate excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics.
To be eligible, applicants must be graduating high school seniors planning to attend an accredited college or university, show achievement in STEAM-related coursework or projects, and have a permanent address in one of the following Texas counties: Austin, Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Harris, Liberty, Montgomery, San Jacinto, Walker, Waller, or Wharton.
Applications require a 300-word essay, two letters of recommendation, and proof of acceptance. Semifinalists may be invited for a personal interview.
Winners will be notified by email and announced at a Houston Astros game, where they will be recognized during a pregame reception and presented with their scholarship.
Scholarship funds may be used for tuition, fees, books, supplies, and other course-related expenses.
