The Houston Astros have introduced a new digital payment system designed to make buying food, drinks, and merchandise at Daikin Park quicker and more convenient for fans.
Called the Astros Wallet, the feature is built into the MLB Ballpark app and allows fans to link a credit or debit card once, then use it for purchases throughout the stadium without re-entering payment details. The system also brings together season ticket holder benefits, loaded value credits, and discounts into one scannable QR code.
How It Works
Fans can add a payment card to their Astros Wallet through the MLB Ballpark app or when purchasing tickets online. Once a card is saved, it will automatically be available for future transactions at the ballpark.
At concession stands and team stores, fans simply select “Scan & Pay” in the app to generate a QR code. That single code combines the payment method with any available discounts or loaded value. A staff member scans it, and the purchase is completed without needing a physical card.
Payments are applied in the following order:
- Discounts are applied first
- Loaded value credits are used next
- Stored value is applied
- Any remaining balance is charged to the saved card
Fans with multiple payment methods or credits can choose which to use for each purchase by tapping the “Edit” option on the QR code screen.
Works Across Tickets and the Ballpark
Cards saved in the MLB Ballpark app automatically sync with a fan’s MyTickets account on astros.com. That means a card saved while buying tickets online will already be set up for use inside the stadium.
The Astros Wallet can be used at concession stands and team stores throughout Daikin Park.
Security and Control
The team says payment information is securely tokenized and stored to help protect sensitive data. Fans can manage, add, or remove cards at any time through the MLB Ballpark app or by logging into their account online. Removing a card in one place removes it from both systems.
Especially Useful for Season Ticket Holders
The wallet is particularly helpful for season ticket and partial plan holders who receive loaded value or in-park discounts. Instead of tracking multiple cards or benefits, everything is combined into one scan at checkout.
Fans can view their available benefits and choose whether to apply them individually or alongside their payment card.

The Astros Wallet is available now to anyone with the MLB Ballpark app, which is free on iOS and Android. With Opening Day approaching, the team is positioning the feature as part of its broader effort to modernize the fan experience and speed up transactions at busy concession areas.
