Houston Astros reliever AJ Blubaugh has another reason to celebrate.
Blubaugh and longtime girlfriend Vanessa Laundrie announced their engagement Friday, sharing photos of the proposal on Instagram with the caption, “In every lifetime.”
The couple were both college athletes at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Blubaugh pitched three seasons for the Panthers before the Astros selected him in the seventh round of the 2022 MLB Draft, while Laundrie competed as a sprinter for Milwaukee’s track and field team.
The 26-year-old right-hander made his major-league debut with Houston in 2025 and has become a valuable part of the Astros bullpen this season, posting a 3.48 ERA across 46 appearances.
Laundrie earned her bachelor’s degree from Milwaukee in 2024 and completed her MBA there in May. She also interned with the Milwaukee Brewers last season in partnerships and premium services.
