HOUSTON — Ryan Pressly didn’t stay away from the Astros for long.
Space City Home Network announced Saturday that the former Houston closer and two-time All-Star will join the network as a pregame and postgame analyst during the 2026 season. Pressly made his debut the same day, appearing alongside SCHN host Adam Wexler during the World Baseball Classic quarterfinal between Puerto Rico and Italy at Daikin Park.
The move brings Pressly back into the Astros orbit after seven seasons in Houston, where he played a key role in one of the most successful eras in franchise history.
Pressly was on the mound for one of the defining moments of the Astros’ 2022 championship run, recording the final outs of the combined no-hitter against the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 4 of the World Series. He spent seven seasons with Houston from 2018 through 2023, earning two All-Star selections and serving as the club’s closer during multiple postseason runs.
After departing Houston following the 2023 season, Pressly spent the final two years of his career with the Chicago Cubs before retiring at the end of the 2025 season.
Current Astros players were quick to welcome him back.
After Saturday’s 8–2 spring training win over the Mets, outfielder Joey Loperfido made a direct appeal during his postgame comments.
“Press, we need you boots on the ground. Come down to Florida, man—we miss you,” Loperfido said. “We’re excited to see you in Houston.”
Wexler noted that Pressly is expected to appear on Astros broadcasts throughout the upcoming season.
For Astros fans, the transition from the mound to the broadcast booth offers a familiar voice and presence—one tied closely to some of the most memorable moments of the club’s recent championship era.
